For getting started you will require an Amadeus terminal installed on your laptop or PC. Access to Amadeus terminal is not available for all and one has to be registered with Amadeus to gain access to the system. The process for gaining access won’t be discussed in this lesson and any registered travel agent can get in touch with Amadeus sales of their respective countries.
In this lesson, we will start with the very first step which is how to log in to Amadeus.
Graphical
Step 1– Double Click on the Amadeus icon on your desktop pc or laptop.
Once you double click you will see the below screen.
If you observe the above screen you will notice the system will ask for your agent ID and password. This will be provided by Amadeus itself, it’s a unique alphanumeric ID that is assigned to every individual for accessing the system. Once you enter these details you will be signed on to the system will take you the main screen as below.
Step 2– Click ok on the main screen to sign on and access Amadeus. After you click ok you will be directed to the below screen. This is a Graphical interface that can be used for accessing the system but since we will be learning the core system using cryptic commands we will be skipping this step.
Step 3– Click on the terminals icon in the above main screen which will take you to the live terminal through which you can access all availability and book for all Airlines, hotels, Car rentals, Train and travel insurance, etc which are available on Amadeus.
Now that you have learned how to sign in using the graphical web page of Amadeus next we will teach you how to sign in using cryptic commands.
Cryptic
In Cryptic process to sign on we step 1 will be almost the same.
Step I – Log on to Amadeus Portal – http://amadeusvista.com/
Click on the launch platform tab.
Step II – This will open up the same window but this time instead of entering details here just close this window.
Step III – Once you cancel as mentioned above you will notice another screen loading up just click on the ok icon.
Step IV – Now this will take you to Graphical page with various functions, but since you need to use the cryptic form you will click the terminal icon to go to Amadeus terminals.
Step V – Once you are in the terminal type the cryptic command below to sign on. (Please note sign-on are created by Amadeus and an initial password is provided which has to be reset)
JI*7171AM/SU — This command will enable you to sign on in all work areas
OR
JI7171AM/SU —- This command will enable you to sing on in work area A
Step VI – Enter your password using below command.
J-R@mbojet1
Or if you are using this sign on for first-time use below command.
J-Password/R@mbojet1
Once you enter the correct password as instructed above you will see below final prompt as sign-on completed with date and other information, now you are ready to work on Amadeus Selling platform.
